The one-member Commission appointed by the State Government to study the impact of end-to-end computerisation programme of the public distribution system (PDS) in Kerala, submitted its report here on Friday.
The Nivedita P Haran Commission submitted the report to Food and Civil Supplies Minister Anoop Jacob.
The project envisages the creation and management of a digitised database and supply chain management from the Food Corporation of India (FCI) godown to fair price shops.
The programme will enable electronic stock-keeping and maintenance of real-time information on allocation, stock position and sales. The Commission studied about the transparency required and how the new system could be implemented to help the common man.
