NSS awards: Kerala bags top honours

The Higher Secondary Directorate of Kerala has won this year’s ‘Indira Gandhi NSS Award’ of the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports for its National Service Scheme (NSS)-related activities.

The Higher Secondary Directorate of Kerala has won this year’s ‘Indira Gandhi NSS Award’ of the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports for its National Service Scheme (NSS)-related activities.

The certificate of appreciation for universities was bagged by Mahatma Gandhi University.

Government Engineering College, Kozhikode, has been selected the best NSS unit. Abeed Tharavattam of the college was selected the best programme officer.

Shijin Varghese of NSS College, Pandalam, is the best NSS volunteer, a news release from the office of Education Minister P K Abdu Rabb said.

Higher Secondary Education director Keshvendra Kumar and other officials will receive the award from President Pranab Mukherjee in New Delhi on November 19. Rabb congratulated all the winners who brought the top honours to Kerala.
