A former shirastadar of the district court here was found dead outside his house at Kariyam here on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Vijayan Pillai, 57, of Idavakkode near Kariyam. He retired from service two years ago.
The police said that he might have fallen accidentally from the second floor of the house.
There was no one at home when the mishap occurred. The body was found lying in front of the house by his wife Latha when she returned from work.
Latha is a teacher at Government High School, Kadakkavoor.
The body is kept at the Medical College Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination.
