CAPE Director Resigns

Cooperative Academy of Professional Education (CAPE) director Riji G Nair has resigned from the post citing personal reasons on Saturday.

He submitted the resignation to Cooperation Minister C N Balakrishnan through an emissary. Appointment of Riji G Nair, who was facing a Vigilance probe in connection with the corruption in the Consumerfed during his stint as its Managing Director, as the CAPE director had triggered controversy within the Congress party.

KPCC president V M Sudheeran had also raised objection to the appointment of a person facing Vigilance probe in connection with corruption as the CAPE director. The recent meeting of the KPCC had been stormy over the discussion on the issue.
