THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Education Minister P K Abdu Rabb will inaugurate a programme to improve English learning in high schools in the district on June 16. The district-level inauguration of the programme will be held at Cotton Hill Government Girls Higher Secondary School. The programme will be implemented through English clubs in schools and will be coordinated by the District Centre for English.

Director of Public Instruction Gopala Krishna Bhat, District Panchayat president Ansajitha Russell, other people’s representatives and experts in the field of education will be present at the function which will begin at 11 am. Awards for the best English Clubs and release of the English Education Journal will also be held as part of the programme. Those teachers who have been named as English Club convenors should reach Cotton Hill School before 9.30 am on June 16.
