CPI state secretariat has called upon the government to announce a comprehensive liquor policy which would also help the toddy industry in the state.
In a statement issued here the other day, the secretariat said that traditional toddy sector was facing a severe crisis. Altogether 1300 toddy shops are remaining closed in the state leaving over 20,000 workers jobless, it said.
