FACT Revival: VS Seeks Govt Action

Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan has urged the central and state governments to take immediate action for the revival of FACT in Kochi.

In a statement issued here on Saturday, Achuthanandan said the Centre should correct its decisions regarding FACT.

The Opposition leader said he had sent letters to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Defence Minister A K Antony and Finance Minister P Chidambaram seeking financial aid package for the revival of FACT.

However, Finance Minister P Chidambaram in his reply to the letter had said that financial aid cannot be given for the time-being, Achuthanandan said. As FACT is one of the first Central PSUs in Kerala, the government should take urgent measures for its revival, he asked.
