Pannian: LDF Improved Its Performance

Express News Service

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The LDF has improved its performance in Kerala in the Lok Sabha polls, opined CPI state secretary Pannian Raveendran. The LDF  could improve its number of seats compared to the last polls, he pointed out in a statement issued here on Friday.

‘’The LDF could win eight seats this time compared to the four seats in 2009. Also, the Left could bring down the majority of UDF candidates. In Wayanad, CPI’s Sathyan Mokeri had a close fight with UDF’s M I Shahnavas, who had won with more than one lakh majority last time. In Thrissur, C N Jayadevan could  record a major victory. The LDF could also snatch three seats - Kannur, Idukki and Chalakkudy - from the UDF,’’ Pannian said.  He said the campaign on Modi wave caused some concerns among the religious minorities, who eventually supported the UDF.
