THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: State Election Commissioner K Sasidharan Nair the other day disqualified T K Rejimon, vice-president of Aymanam grama panchayat, Kottayam district, under anti-defection law. The commissioner took the decision to disqualify Rejimon based on a petition filed by Anila Babu, a member of the same panchayat.
The petition said that Rejimon had disobeyed his party’s orders on continuing in the post of panchayat vice-president and he had aligned with the Opposition party to defeat a no-confidence motion against him.
