'No Plan to Privatise Govt Services'

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Planning Board has not devised any project to privatise government services including health, education and drinking water supply, Rural Development and Planning Minister K C Joseph said.

The Minister said in a statement here that the govt stand was to implement development projects in a public-private participation mode. Existing benefits will not be curtailed but more efficiency will be brought into welfare programmes, he said.“PPP doesn’t mean the end of govt services, but an alternative method to offer funds for development programmes.
