Library in Honour of Hridayakumari

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Books had always been a part of the late B Hridayakumari’s life. Now, around 300 inmates of the Kerala University women’s hostel have set up a library at the hostel to commemorate the teacher and literary critic who passed away in the city on November 8.

Poet V Madhusoodanan Nair will inaugurate the library on Wednesday at a function to be held at the Music Department Hall near the hostel at Thycaud. University Pro-Vice Chancellor N Veeramanikantan will preside over the function. Registrar K Mohammed Basheer will present mementos to the students who toiled to make the memorial a reality.

J M Rahim, coordinator, Centre for Gandhian Studies, will deliver the Prof Hridayakumari Memorial Lecture on the occasion. A poetry recital by Anagha J Kolath and a dance performance by the students are also to be held as part of the programme.
