Dance Festival Inauguration Today

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Vyloppilli Samskrithi Bhavan is hosting a platform for young classical dancers to showcase their talent at ‘Chilanka- The Vibrance of Dance’  dance festival.  The five- day festival will have dance forms from different states of India such as Bharathanatyam, Kathak, Kuchipudi and Mohiniyattam.

Bharathanatyam performers are Shreyasi Gopinath (New Delhi), Revathy Sureshkumar (Thiruvananthapuram), R Arun Sankar (Chennai), Nair Sisters, Ranjitha Vivin and Sneha Devanandan (Bangalore). Vidyagauri Adkar and Mujaffar Mulla from Uttar Pradesh will do Kathak. 

Swathy Narayanan from Thrissur will come on stage with Kuchipudi. Mohiniyattam performance is by Maya Vinayan from Chennai and Sandra Pisharody- Parvathy Sreevallabhan from Thrissur. On each day, two programmes are scheduled, beginning from the first day, at time slots between 6.15 pm to 7.30 pm and from 7.30 pm to 8.45 pm.

 Curtains will go up for the fest on Wednesday at 6 pm with Cultural Affairs Minister K C Joseph inaugurating the fest.  K Muraleedharan MLA will preside over the function. Palode Ravi MLA is the chief guest. Vyloppilli Samskrithi Bhavan vice-chairman Anil Panachooran, member secretary Balu Kiriyath, committee members Parassala Vijayan, Kavil P Madhavan, K Vikraman Nair, Bindu Ravi and N S Issac will speak.
