India’s kanika kapur beat a bevy of beauties from nations all over the continent to win the prestigious miss asia 2015 contest held in kochi on Tuesday night

It was a night of glitz and glamour as 14 beauties from all over the continent sashayed down the ramp for the Miss Asia 2015 contest held at Le Meridien on Tuesday night.

In the event marked by grandeur, Kanika Kapur, who represented India, was crowned the Miss Asia 2015.

Twenty-year old Kapur won the crown after competing with other 13 damsels  from countries like China, Iran, Nepal, Philippines, Bhutan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Tibet, Srilanka, UAE, Bhutan, Uzbekistan and Bahrain.

Alfe Marie Nathanile of Philippines was adjusted as first runner up and Jeyla Guliyeva of Azerbaijan the second runner up . Manappuram Finance Ltd managing director and CEO V P Nandakumar crowned the winners.

The event also instituted award for 13 different categories. The Best National Costume  was awarded to Ais Latsch of Malaysia. Miss Beautiful Face title went to Gulshat Baltayeva of Turkmenistan and Miss Congeniality title went to Parmida Baniardalan of UAE.

Deki Wangmo of Bhutan was adjudged Miss Perfect Ten while Miss Beautiful Hair title went to Parmida Baniardalan of UAE.

Other winners are Miss Viewer’s Choice: Tenzin Yangzom of Tibet; Miss Catwalk: Ais Latsch of Malaysia;  Miss Beautiful Eyes: Prisca Nirmalee Rathnasingham of Srilanka, Miss Talented: Grishma Basnet of Nepal; Miss Beautiful Skin: Malika Karimova of Uzbekistan; Miss Photogenic: Mina Jay of Iran, Miss Personality: Yang Xinyue Wantong of China. Kanika Kapur also bagged Beautiful Smile.

The pageants were judged by international model Larysa Sergiienko, supermodel Natasha Suri, director Sohan Roy, actor Ambika and Miss Srilanka World Sumudhu Prasadini.

The event organised by Pegasus had three sequences for the finale , including the national costume round, theme round and­ black and white gown.
