Jury for State Film Awards Constituted

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Finally, the government has constituted the film award jury for choosing film awards for 2014, with script-writer John Paul as the chairman. The inordinate delay in constituting the award selection committee had invited severe criticism from various corners.

The 10-member jury has directors Bhadran Mattel, Madhupal, Balu Kiriyath, film editor G Murali, sound recordist Ranjith, cameraman Sunny Joseph, musician Prof Omanakutty and producer M M Hamsa. The Chalachitra Academy secretary will be the member-secretary.

Satheesh Babu Payyannoor will be the chairman of the jury to select the awardees in film literature. Raja Narayanan and A Padmanabhan are the other members. We will finalise the selection of awards by the end of July, said Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan.
