Alliance Francaise de Trivandrum will be hosting L’Entourloop, a Hip-hop Reggae beatmakers’ concert on May 23 at Vyloppilly Samskrithi Bhavan at 6.30 pm. Banging classic Hip-hop in a Yardie style, L’Entourloop is a French duo of beatmakers. In their music, they combine two musical cousins - Hip-hop and Reggae. After their first opus was sold-out within a few weeks, the duo prepared a ‘summermix’ which honours a very successful method. As a result, murderous mashups and unstoppable bootlegs come sprinkled with incisive scratches and spicy samples. The reggae fans will be surprised to find new versions of their classics and the Hip-hop aficionados will rediscover the brio of their favourite MCs in a new light. This summermix thus honours Action Bronson, Nas, Skarra Mucci, Soom T, Jacob Miller, Alton Ellis, Method Man&Redman, Sista Nancy, Keith &Tex and Promoe.
And, as part of Cineclub, ‘9 Month Stretch’ will be screened on May 30 at 5.30 pm. The French comedy, written, directed by and starring Albert Dupontel, revolves around a female judge. Ariane Felder,the ambitious heroine, discovers she’s pregnant by Bob Nolan, a criminal prosecuted for atrocious assault and battery. In the film Ariane, who remembers nothing, tries to figure out what happened to her.
