THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology, Nalanchira were crowned the champions at the recently concluded all-India inter-collegiate basketball tournament at Chennai after they defeated Hindustan University, Chennai 55-51 in the final.
Baselios had lost to the same opposition in the group stages 53-52, but found a place in the quarter finals after defeating St Joseph’s College, Chennai and Rajalakshmi Engineering College, Chennai 53-38 and 40-8 respectively. In the quarter final, they defeated Jeppiaar Institute of Technology 62-57 and in the semi, brought down Jain University 39-27 before taking revenge on Hindustan in the finals.
Arjun G K of Mar Baselios was picked the best player of the tournament.
