KAT's First Chairman Retires

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The first chairman of Kerala Administrative Tribunal (KAT), Justice K Balakrishnan Nair, retired from service on Thursday.

On December 20, 2011, the Tribunal commenced its functions chaired by Justice Balakrishnan Nair with Mathew C Kunnumkal and Sringaram Pradeep Kumar Naidu as members.

A single-judicial-member bench came into being in Thiruvananthapuram. In the three-year and eight-month period of his service in the tribunal, 12, 711 cases out of the 21, 153 were settled.
