Take Steps to End Docs' Strike: VS

Express News Service

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state government should urgently take measures to put an end to the indefinite relay fast by government doctors, Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan said on Monday. Alleging that the government move was aimed at supporting private hospitals by destroying the public health sector, VS sought the chief minister’s intervention in the issue.

In a statement here, the Opposition leader said though there was a PSC list, the government was not willing to make appointments from the list. “Even now the staff pattern of 1960 is being followed in the hospitals across the state,” VS said.
