Coastal Speciality Hospitals to Get 5 Specialist Doctors,12 other Staff

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:As a part of improving the facilities of the Coastal speciality hospital at Valiyathura, the government has decided to appoint five specialist doctors and 12 other staff here.

The prime focus of the specialty hospital would be women and children. Two doctors, each specialised in gynecology and pediatrics, one doctor in anesthesia, five staff nurses and two attendants have been appointed, said Health minister V S Sivakumar. The specialty hospital, which was inaugurated on September 8, has been built under the Model Fishing Village project, he said.

MLA Fund

Sivakumar said that two vehicles will be bought for the hospital using the MLA fund for conducting medical camps for the people from Veli to Poonthura areas.

He said that the specialty hospital has all the modern facilities.  The hospital has an X-Ray block, Conference Hall and a laboratory.
