THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Here is good news for those who are undergoing fertility treatment.  GIFT IVF centre at Athani will hold a medical camp which will make use of a new natural technology for IVF called INVO cell. According to Anita Mani, Infertility specialist, the treatment is very economical and much cheaper than the Conventional IVF.  GIFT IVF centre won’t  be charging for anything other than the kit and medicines. This will cost only Rs 38,000 as against the conventional IVF which can cost around 1.5 to 2 lakhs. IVF has always been a very costly procedure due to the expensive nature of medicines and equipments.  When couples are informed about the high cost of IVF treatment, they become burdened.  “ Infertility as such is very stressful and on top of that, expensive  treatment procedures like IVF/ ICSI can be a huge burden to middle class and poor couples. Since a long time, scientists have been trying hard to find an alternative low cost method. Finally US FDI (2015) has approved this new technology. This is a natural method of IVF, which is not only cost effective, but also more appealing to those people  who find artificial methods difficult to comprehend, when it comes to conception.

How It Is Done

Using the new technology, the eggs are aspirated from the female partner after minimal stimulation (unlike conventional IVF this  involves minimal injections reducing cost). The male gametes (sperms)  are mixed in a particular ratio with the eggs in an IVF media in a specialised container, allowing the best sperms to fertilise the eggs naturally. This is immediately placed inside the body, so the embryo actually forms and incubates inside the body. In conventional IVF, this step usually happens inside the incubators in sophisticated ART labs.  However, in INVOcell technology, after 72 hours, the embryos are checked and placed in the uterus ,through embryo transfer. As the stimulation is less, there is generally no need for embryo freezing or embryo wastage. External complications like temperature and PH variations due to mechanical or electrical problems are avoided as the embryo is safe inside the mothers body, which always provides the right and optimal environment. For more details contact:  04842475031/ 34, (m) 9745494804.
