THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Work wear by multiple brands including PostFold  over the  last  two  seasons have favoured boxy cuts as their primary choice with regard to silhouettes.

When it comes to Hema Kaul’s take on the same, a bit of glamour sneaks in. A regular at the London Fashion Week over the last eight seasons, this globetrotting designer has a penchant for unconventional designs. Looks from her collaborations showcase an extreme contrast between futuristic designs and lacey ethereal ones.

Through her latest collection titled The Female Boss, this NIFT graduate is aiming for a 9 to 5 wardrobe that can effortlessly blend in at a cocktail event.“I believe in simple, fuss free designs,” begins Hema, who primarily operates via private showcases for her clientele located in Middle East and London.  Presenting a combination of dresses and jumpsuits in luminous blacks to neutral shades, her latest ensemble is crafted in a mix of silk, French lace and chiffon. “I play with a lot of colours as per the season’s trends. High waisted pants and skirts paired with boxy tops is one of the highlights in this collection. As for detailing, soft folded construction with voluminous shapes and 3D silhouettes add a surreal touch to it,” explains the couturier. As opposed to the drapes showcased in her festive line from  2016, the cutout detailing  in The Female Boss lends a sleek yet structured look to the outfits.
