THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Federation of Film Societies of India- Keralam secretary and noted film critic V K Joseph has been conferred the Ritwik Ghatak Award instituted by the Ritwik Ghatak Film Society and Foundation.
Joseph has been selected for the award taking into account his contributions towards film societies and film criticism.
The award will be presented on November 4 at Rajshahi in Bangladesh - the birthplace of Ghatak. The programmes will be held at Ghatak’s ancestral house. Joseph had won the national award for best film critic and state awards for best book on cinema.
Last year, noted filmmaker Budhadeb Dasgupta was selected for the Ghatak award.
