THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : In view of the natural calamities, the government should take stern action against illegal constructions, encroachments and other activities harmful to environment Administrative Reforms Commission chairman V S Achuthanandan has said. In a statement issued here, Achuthanandan pointed out such illegal activities add to the gravity of natural calamities. He also asked officers to take adequate precautionary measures to deal with the issue. CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran urged the government to provide immediate relief to the victims of monsoon calamity.
