Two-day literary meet at IMA Hall

VIJAYAWADA: The two-day North-East and Southern Writer’s meeting organised by the Sahitya Akademi (Bangalore) began on a grand note at IMA Hall here on Sunday.
Speaking at the inaugural session, N Gopi convener, Telugu Advisory Board, Sahitya Academy said that the two-day meeting was aimed at discussing contemporary literary trends.

Eminent writers like Nilima Thakuria Haque (Assamese), Poornima Suresh (Kannada), Kilimanoor Madhu (Malayalam), Ravi Subramanian (Tamil), Papineni Sivasankar (Telugu), Krishna Naik (Banjara) and Budhichandra Heisnam (Manipuri) presented their readings on the occasion.

On day two, short story reading and poet’s meeting would be conducted at the venue, chaired by K Enoch.
Poets from Assamese, Bodo, Kannada, Malayalam, Sanskrit, Tamil, Telugu and Tiwa will recite their poems on the occasion. Literature lovers attended the meeting and visited the book exhibition organised by the akademi.
