Kshatriyas of Andra Pradesh demand welfare corporation for their poor

VIJAYAWADA: Members of Rashtra Kshatriya Seva Parishat on Sunday urged the State government to set up a Kshatriya Welfare Corporation for the welfare of poor people of the community on the lines of corporations setup for Brahmins and Kapus in the State.

Addressing a press conference here, Parishat president D Satyanarayana Raju felt that 70 per cent of the people in the community are below poverty line and government should focus on providing education and employment opportunities to the poor people in Kshatriya community.

A representation would be submitted by the members to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu seeking him to evolve measures for the welfare of the community, he said.

Later, he unveiled a poster of the ‘State Convention’ which is sheduled on October 22 in the city. He called upon the people of Kshatriya community to participate in the meeting. Parishat secretary P Vijayarama Raju and treasurer T Ravindranath were also present at the news conference.
