VIJAYAWADA: All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) staged a protest against the State government in the city on Friday for making liquor as a source of income and ruining the lives of common public. Hundreds of women participated in the rally, raising slogans against the TDP government and demanding ban a on liquor.Addressing the gathering, S Punyavathi, national vice-president of AIDWA, said that Chief Ministe N Chandrababu Naidu was ruining the lives of public by forcefully making them to get addicted to the liquor.

“Naidu is always interested in making money from liquor and he will always instruct officials to increase the sale of liquor. The State government is using liquor as a major source of income and not imposing ban on it though lakhs of families are affected,” she  said. . Women from various organisations participated in the rally denouncing the excise policy of the Telugu Desam regime.
