VIJAYAWADA: The APSRTC Employees Union (EU) has allied with Staff and Workers Federation (SWF) to contest the elections for the recognised body in the corporation to be held this month, said RTC EU State general secretary K Padmakar on Sunday.
Padmakar said elections will be conducted in 17 regions across the State, where EU will extend its support for SWF in three regions, including Nellore Operation Region and Non-Operation Region and West Godavari Region. “However, the SWF will support EU in all the regions during the elections,” he said.
The EU leader also said that a representation had been submitted to the Commissioner of Labour requesting him to conduct elections for the recognised body in RTC as the tenure of National Mazdoor Union (NMU) had completed three months ago.
He called upon other union leaders for a meeting in Vijayawada on July 4 to discuss about the norms to be followed during the polls.
