Andhra Pradesh: Brace for thunderstorms

VIJAYAWADA: For one or two days, rainfall with thundershowers are very likely to occur at many places of coastal Andhra Pradesh and a few places in Rayalaseema. The upper air cyclonic circulation over North Chhattisgarh and adjoining Odisha and neighbourhood extending up to 7.6 km and tilting south-westwards with height persists.

The East West shear zone roughly along latitude 19° N between 4.5 and 7.6 km above the mean sea level along with cyclonic circulation tilting southwards with height persists.Under its influence, strong surface winds will be from southwesterly direction with speed reaching 45 to 50 kmph likely along and off south coastal AP.

The IMD has issued a report for the next three days. Many places will receive rainfall in the next 24 hours and the rainfall would gradually reduce to a few places after 24 hours. For the next 24 hours, warning of heavy rain very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Visakhapatnam,  Vizianagaram, Srikakulam of north coastal AP has been issued.As the state of sea would be rough, fishermen are advised not to venture  into the sea along and off south coastal Andhra Pradesh.
