Govt hikes salary of Anganwadi staff

The State government has raised the salary of Anganwadi teachers to Rs 10,500 per month from the present Rs 7,000 and that of helpers to Rs 6,000 from Rs 4,500.

VIJAYAWADA: The State government has raised the salary of Anganwadi teachers to Rs 10,500 per month from the present Rs 7,000 and that of helpers to Rs 6,000 from Rs 4,500.
The wage hike of Anganwadi staff will put an additional burden of Rs 305 crore on the State exchequer.
During a meeting with Sadhikara Mithras in the Grievance Hall at his residence in Undavalli near here on Wednesday, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that his government has raised the wages of Anganwadi staff twice after coming to power in 2014.

He also said that the government would give smartphones to the Anganwadi staff. Expressing happiness over the decline in neonatal mortality rate, the Chief Minister said that Andhra Pradesh was performing better than Kerala.

Asserting that the government will take every initiative to ensure satisfaction of 90 per cent of people in the State on the schemes being implemented by his government, the Chief Minister said that with the help of 5 lakh Sadhikara Mithras, the government would reach the goal.

‘Hai Chandranna’ app
The Chief Minister said the government would soon launch an app, ‘Hai Chandranna’. He said people can lodge their grievances and get them redressed through the app.
