Vijayawada: 18-member steering committee to examine Systra reports formed

The Managing Director of Amaravati Metro Rail Corporation will be the member convener and two officials from Systra Consultancy will be special invitees.

VIJAYAWADA: The Municipal Administration and Urban development (MA and UD) department constituted a steering committee to examine all the technical reports to be prepared by the France-based Systra consultancy, which is preparing the detailed project report (DPR), of the proposed light metro project in Vijayawada.

In a government order (GO RT 282), issued by the principal secretary (MU and AD) R Karikal Valaven on Thursday, it is said that 18 members will be there in the steering committee.

While MU and AD minister will be the chairman of the committee, vice-chairman of AP Planning Board, principal secretary (MU and AD), vice-chairman of Andhra Pradesh Township And Infrastructure Development Corporation, president of AP Chamber of Commerce, member secretary of AP Pollution Control Board, commissioner of transport, Vijayawada police commissioner, Vijayawada divisional railway manager, MD of APSRTC, Krishna district collector, CRDA commissioner, Vijayawada municipal commissioner, Vijayawada deputy commissioner of police (traffic), and senior vice president of Urban Mass Transit Company Ltd (consultant) will be the members.
