VIJAYAWADA: The highly anticipated second edition of the air show to be performed at Punnami Ghat from November 23 to 25 aims to generate employment in the aviation sector.

In a press conference on Tuesday, Krishna district Collector B Lakshmikantham said, “The show will encourage young people to join the aviation sector. It will also attract the much-needed investments.” He pointed out that the event is unique as it is not being conducted at the airport. “Generally, air shows are conducted at the airport. However, this time, we are conducting it at Punnami Ghat near Prakasam Barrage, which has recently been rechristened NTR Sarovar,” he said.

Trial runs will take place on November 21 and 22. Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority is conducting the event in association with Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Global Stars Aerobatics Team, which has a record of standing first in Zhengzhou 2015 World Air Masters (WAM), third in the Dazu 2011 WAM, and eighth in the World Aerobatic Championships in 2007, will be performing. The team is also a nine-time British aerobatic champion in Advanced & Unlimited category.
