CHENNAI: RAM S Krishnan won the first Chennai District Chess Association FIDE-rated rapid chess tournament held at Kumara Rani Meena Muthiah Arts and Science College (Adyar) on Saturday. Krishnan was tied on eight points with three other players — Tarun V Kanth, Hari Madhavan and Hari Krishnan — but pipped them via the Buchcholz tie-break system. IM Manuel Aaron and WGM Subbaraman Vijayalakshmi gave away the prizes.
