How Accepting Are You of Having a Transgender Study With You?

Team Edex

We are in the 21st century and I think we should be considerate enough to treat transgenders as a human being. If we fight for equality between men and women, then why behave rudely or feel creepy about a transgender? Though it will be awkward in the beginning, I think with time, I will get used to them and might even enjoy their company.

Sirisha Pudipeddi, Stanley Engineering College For Women, Hyderabad

We have been discriminating against people on the basis of caste, race and religion for long. Discrimination is something that comes to us naturally. We always tend to stereotype transgenders and are less accepting of them, be it in any sphere, and this needs to change. I would definitely consider having a transgender study with me as a sign of progress. I would be highly appreciative of a transgender classmate and support someone from the third gender for having taken the bold step of getting an education, as it leads to progress.

Shivendra Urs, University of Mysore

Transgenders aren’t corrupted systems, they are just different software. The SC has created a remarkable footing for the transgender as 'the third gender'.  The status doesn’t have anything to do with education. The 2As have to be enacted ('Awareness' and 'Acceptance' ) among the youth. I respect their identity because I believe, it takes valour to grow up and become one. We must not forget that individuals do not choose, who becomes a transgender, it’s nature that does.

Rachita Dash, DSBM, Odisha

We need to accept people for who they are and not be concerned about things that society (in certain part) is telling you. Any individual is beautiful and even a religious person would agree with this. God made us in his image and for the atheists out there, busy with science, they cannot be any more bothered by such unimportant questions. There are so many things that humanity does

not know. Yet, the world would be a better place to live in, when we stop analysing what the person next to us is like and start thinking about the future of the human race and the problems surrounding it. The world is fragile and we have to  protect it with knowledge and by standing united with the people across the world.
