Kerala Has Become 'Nursery of Terrorism': Modi

BJP's prime ministerial nominee Narendra Modi Tuesday said the Congress has done nothing for Kerala, which has led the state to become a "nursery of terrorism".

Taking a dig at the Congress-led United Democratic Front alliance, the Bharatiya Janata Party leader said that despite having the potential to become a tourism hub, the state has fallen prey to terrorism.

"The life of tourism has become the nursery of terrorism. Kerala had the potential to become a tourist hub, but its potential has stagnated," Modi said at a rally here.

Stating that women in Kerala were not safe, the Gujarat chief minister said that in the list of top 10 states with the maximum number of crimes against women, there was not a single state ruled by the BJP.

"The top six states are ruled by the Congress, and the remaining four too are ruled by its allies. Not a single BJP-ruled state features on that list," Modi said amid cheers from the crowd.

Raising questions on the security of youth from the state who work abroad, Modi said the government in Delhi has done nothing to ensure their security.

"Their passports are snatched, they are not paid and are even exploited. Has the government done anything for them?" Modi asked.
