HYDERABAD: Putting a spoke in the wheel of People’s Front, advocate-turned-politician Rachana Reddy quit Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS), alleging that tickets have been sold by TJS president Kodandaram and the newly formed People’s Front has become a big joke and will fail to provide an alternative to TRS.

“We had lot of hopes and believed that TJS will bring new style of politics in Telangana and provide an alternative to TRS, but Kodandaram has betrayed everyone. Several sincere workers, youth and professionals who worked at the grassroots level for TJS were cheated and tickets were sold to parachute candidates. Several committed leaders in TJS were defrauded. Kodandaram has colluded with Congress and agreed to just eight seats, only to lose. Joining hands with TDP is also not going down well with Telangana people,” fired Rachana Reddy announcing her resignation to the party on Sunday.

Rachana Reddy sailed with Kodandaram in several agitations and joined TJS after the party was launched. Being a vocal activist she soon rose to popularity. Now her rebellion against Kodandaram before five days to polls, is set to harm not just Professor but also People’s Front.

“There is no coordination between Congress and TDP leaders in People’s Front.  There is no coordination even between AICC and TPCC. What is the use of giving Kodandaram the post alliance convenor, when parachute candidates and corrupt are given People’s Front tickets. People’s Front has become a  joke. It will fail to provide an alternative. When I raised these issues within the party, they came to attack me,” said Rachana Reddy, making serious allegations.

Marri Aditya Reddy also quit TJS alleging that Kodandaram has compromised with Congress. “Instead of encouraging sincere leaders and youngsters, Kodandaram has done same old politics like KCR. He has backstabbed Telangana,” said Aditya Reddy.
