JOGULAMBA GADWAL: TRS leader Harish Rao on Friday called upon the people of Telangana to ensure that the Grand Alliance bites the dust in the upcoming Assembly elections. Addressing an election meeting here on Friday, Harish Rao requested voters to vote for TRS’ candidate from Gadwal Krishna Mohan Reddy.

Attacking Congress leader DK Aruna, Rao said, “Wasn’t she a minister? Why was she not able to carve out a separate Gadwal district?” Rao also questioned Congress governments of the past for not being able to complete irrigation projects, such as Nettempadu project, on time. “The project began in 2004, but was completed only in 2014, when TRS came to power,” he said.

The upcoming elections were between TRS’ ‘development’ and Congress’ ‘opportunism’, claimed Harish Rao. Later, criticising TDP chief and AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, he said,”Naidu wrote multiple letters to the Centre asking them to stall irrigation projects in Telangana. Naidu was responsible for the deaths and starvation of numerous farmers in Palamuru. And Congress is not different. It is responsible for the diversion of Krishna river waters from Pothireddypadu to outside the basin.”
