HUZURABAD/SIRCILLA/SIDDIPET/KAMAREDDY: Departing from his usual style of Opposition bashing, TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao has restricted himself to highlighting his government’s development programmes while promising new schemes for farmers during his election meetings on Tuesday.

Rao addressed two ‘Praja Ashirwada Sabhas’ in Huzurabad and Sircilla during which he resisted from making any major references to Opposition leaders. Instead, he spoke about the new plans, which his government intends to implement if it retains power, for the farmers.

Stressing the need to provide better remunerative price to their produce,  Rao announced plans for a new public distribution system (PDS) for the benefit of farmers and members of Farmers Associations Coordination Committees.

He pointed out that the State was witnessing huge growth in crop production which needs to be streamlined to ensure remunerative price to farmers.

‘’For this to achieve, we need to develop crop colonies.  We will promote crop colonies and produce divide crops between them. The produce will be purchased through Indira Kranthi Patham Self Help Groups (IKP SHGs) who will process it at their food processing units and sell their products through ration dealers,” he explained

Expressing concern over the unabated growth of adulterated food business, the TRS chief also revealed plans to launch food processing units at Mandal level to tackle  food adulteration problem.“These food processing units will be run by Indira Kranthi Patham workers,” he said.
