HYDERABAD: Anyone who owns a laptop can earn Rs 2,400 by participating in the digital coverage of the Assembly Elections. A little over 33,000 people will be required to relay and record CCTV footage from polling stations across the State, providing students with an easy way to make a quick buck.
While only half the polling stations in the State were given CCTV coverage in 2014, Telangana Election Commission officials said cameras would be installed in all 32,796 stations across the State this election. At sensitive spots, cameras will be installed outside the stations as well. However, the ambitious project of digitally covering all the polling stations poses two challenges: Procuring more than 32000 CCTV cameras and finding people who can perform the task.
With this, the demand for the number of people who will operate cameras has increased this poll season. While footage will be relayed live from stations that have Internet connectivity, and recorded otherwise. Those interested can register by logging on to http://bit.ly/TSwebcast2018. They can leave their name, email address and other details in the online form, Joint Chief Electoral Officer Amrapali Kata said. He added that anyone with a laptop, including students, cab help and be paid.Those who are selected will be trained under a returning officer.
