HYDERABAD: Besides the obvious populist promises, the Congress Party’s manifesto is likely to hit its rival TRS where it hurts the most — employment, and the presence of the State head at the Secretariat. The 116-page document will be unveiled by Sonia Gandhi on Friday at the Medchal public meeting.

Titled as ‘People’s Manifesto’, the document contains promises that have already been popularised by its leaders. It includes filling up of one lakh government jobs in the first year, RS 5 lakh for construction of homes and farm loan waivers of up to Rs 2 lakh.

“We  have prepared manifesto after discussions with all sections of people. It will reflect the aspirations and desires of all sections of Telangana. Also, we have included only those promises which can be practically implemented unlike  TRS,” said TPCC’s manifesto committee chairman C Damodar Raja  Narasimha.
