Gear up to witness one of the biggest events of Hollywood. UTV World Movies is bringing the prestigious awards ceremony -- 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards -- live today from 6.30 a.m. There will also be a repeat telecast at 8 p.m. today. The channel has promised to present a wholesome Hollywood experience to catch the eye of the audience, critics and aficionados of movies alike.  Shantonu Aditya, executive director, UGBL said, “Kicking off 2009 in our own style, we are hosting this year‘s dazzling event and saluting the world‘s favourite movies and television programmes. Showcasing the 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards live, UTV World Movies is bringing the stars and the best of movies closer to our viewers.”  Waltz with Bashir, a part of the UTV World Movies library, has also been nominated for the 66th Annual Golden Globes this year. It is a movie about how, one night at a bar, an old friend tells director Ari about a recurring nightmare in which he is chased by 26 vicious dogs. Every night, the same number of beasts. The two men conclude that there‘s a connection to their Israeli Army mission in the first Lebanon War of the early eighties.

With the Golden Globe Jury narrowing down the very best from a series of films, the nominees are slated to be exceptional in their own rights. Labelled as ‚blockbuster films‘ based on the reviews by renowned critics and audiences of course, movies like Slumdog Millionaire, Frost/Nixon, Mamma Mia, The Reader, Kung Fu Panda and many more have made it to the nomination list for the Best Motion Pictures categories across Drama, Comedy, Musical and Animation respectively. Giving in their best of their talent, Leonardo Dicaprio, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Meryl Streep and Kate Winslet eagerly await to be declared the most deserving actor/ actress for the year.  UTV World Movies is the first Indian channel to have bagged exclusive rights to telecast the Golden Globe Awards for the next three years in SAARC region (excluding Pakistan).
