He is known as the serial kisser in the industry and she is still remembered for her coy act on television. Actors Emraan Hashmi and Prachi Desai were at Fame Shankarnag to talk about their film ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbai’ .

Not happy with the serial kisser tag attached to his name, Emraan said, “After this film, people might say I’ve become the serial killer as I play an underworld don.” Calling television “the regressive medium,” Prachi said. “I’d like to concentrate only on films as they’re progressive. There is nothing exciting happening on television right now.”

‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbai’ is about how the mafia came into force for the first time in Mumbai. It’s a thriller that depicts the crime scenario in Mumbai during the 70’s and 80’s.

About getting the right look in the film, Emraan said, “I watched a couple of movies to know how people used to behave and dress during that time.”

Prachi, who plays a conservative Muslim girl, said that she observed Mumtaz in her earlier films because she was her reference point for the film. The film recently hit the headlines after Shamshad Supariwala, daughter of Haji Mastan (the film is believed to have been based on his life), filed a petition against producer Ekta Kapoor regarding the movie’s character, Shoaib Khan. Shamshad says that her father was neither a gangster nor a smuggler as he is shown in the film.

To this, Emraan said, “We clearly mention in the beginning of the film that it’s not based on Haji Mastan’s life so there is no question of defaming anyone.”

In a recent interview, Prachi called Emraan, one of the best co-stars she has worked with. “Of course, he is fun to work with. It’s annoying when people ask me how difficult it was to work with Emraan. In fact that’s one question that irritates me a lot,” she confirmed.

And when quizzed about the one question that irritates him the most, Emraan said, “Is film mein aapka kirdar kya hai (what’s your role in the film). Now don’t ask me that.”
