Though the grapevine is abuzz with the news, an official announcement is expected to be made by ABC TV bosses on Sunday when they meet with members of the Television Critics Association in Beverly Hills, reports contactmusic.com.
The hit comedy drama debuted in 2004 and became an instant success. The eighth season of the show will premiere in the US on September 25. It stars Marcia Cross, Teri Hatcher, Eva Longoria and Felicity Huffman.
