Why should I bother about others as long as I am doing justice to my assignment?

Meet Radhika Pandit who is basking in the glory of ‘Hudugaru’, a remake of Tamil box office hit ‘Naadodigal’ that was later re-made in Telugu as ‘Shambo Shiva Shambo’.

A little success is enough for most of the Sandalwood heroines to become haughty.

But Radhika, having bagged two Filmfare and one state award, remains the same. “I am happy to bag these awards; they make me work hard,” she says. With a not-so-encouraging start—her debut film ‘18th Cross’ in 2005 remained in the cans due to financial crisis—Radhika’s second film brought her not just name and fame, but awards as well.

Last month, she got the state award for best actress for ‘Moggina Manasu’, and the Filmfare award 2009-10. The first female actor to win back-to-back Filmfare awards, her performance in ‘Love Guru’ again won her the best actress award in 2010. Her film ‘Krishnan Love Story’ has completed 100 days of screening at selected theatres across Karnataka, and currently she’s busy shooting for ‘Saagar’.

So far, Radhika has played single heroine, except in ‘Moggina Manasu’. While most female actors avoid sharing the screen with other heroines, Radhika finds no difficulty in it. “Why should I bother about others as long as I am doing justice to my assignment? There is no need to worry about the success of a film when its script is strong,” she signs off.
