MUMBAI: Regional music compositions have time and again proven that talented individuals exist in all corners of India. There is a popular understanding that they are lesser known or often go unnoticed. However, many of them are getting the attention they deserve and Yug Italiya’s latest song is proof. It has recently been nominated for the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival 2022 and fans couldn’t be happier. Italiya is elated and so are other veterans who have been working hard to get the compositions the attention and appreciation that they deserve.

The original bhajan ‘Hari Tu’ in the voice of Prafull Dave was very popular. The recreated version by Yug and Jagdish Italiya has created a great impression on the audience as well.

The success of the song can also be attributed to the relatable storyline. It depicts the struggles of workers and laborers during the pandemic. Ajita Italiya conceptualized the entire idea of bringing struggles of migrant labourers during lockdown - from cities to their native places. ‘Hari tu’ is a story of a labour family.

Aman Sukhadia, director of the song, says that he had high hopes for the song but never imagined that it will turn out so impactful. He credits the entire team for their efforts and says that the selection at such a grand film festival is the perfect way to facilitate their hard work.

Yug said that performing as a lead in the song was already a splendid chance. The film festival nomination is a pleasant surprise. He also says that it was an unprecedented learning opportunity, and he’d like to perform more in the future.
