LONDON: August Coppola, actor Nicolas Cage's father and filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola's brother, has died of a heart attack.
The 75-year-old suffered the attack Tuesday, reports imdb.com.
He used to teach literature and was the dean of creative arts at California's San Francisco State University. August Coppola had divorced Cage's mother Joy Vogelsang in 1976.
Besides Cage, Coppola is survived by sons Christopher and Marc and three grandchildren.
