Reliance DreamWorks bags 11 Oscar nominations

LOS ANGELES: Anil Ambani-owned Reliance DreamWorks' projects "War Horse", "The Help" and "Real Steel" Tuesday bagged 11 nominations for the 84th Academy Awards.

The prestigious best film category has a line-up of nine nominations, and features "War Horse" and "The Help".

Including the best picture nomination, Steven Spielberg-directed "War Horse" has been nominated in six categories, including sound editing, sound mixing, original score (John Williams), art direction and cinematography. The movie, about the friendship between a horse named Joey and a young man called Albert, releases in India Feb 10.

"The Help", directed by Tate Tylor, is nominated for best actress (Viola Davis), best supporting actress (Jessica Chastain and Octavia Spencer), apart from best picture trophies.

Hugh Jackman-starrer sci-fi thriller "Real Steel" has one nomination for best achievement in visual effects.

This year's Oscar nomination pack is lead by "Hugo", which has 11 nominations alone. It is followed by "The Artist" with 10 nominations, while India's only hope at the Oscars - Sohan Roy's "DAM 999" failed to make it to make it to any category.
