Kal Penn-starrer ‘Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain’ to Release Nov. 7

San Leandro: Ravi Kumar’s dramatic feature film “Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain” has secured a North American distributor, Revolver Entertainment, which has set a Nov. 7 release date here.

The film stars Martin Sheen, Kal Penn, Rajkumar Yadav, Tannishtha Chatterjee and Mischa Barton, and is produced by GFM Films, Sahara Movie Studios, and Rising Star Entertainment. Kumar’s previous work includes the feature film “Guilty Hearts” (2006) and several short films.

Inspired by real events, the film interweaves stories of people in India and the U.S. as they struggle with their daily lives in the months leading to the Union Carbide chemical spill disaster of 1984. A representative from the film did not provide more information by press time.
