LOS ANGELES: Filmmaker Richard Curtis has revealed that while filming for 2003 film "Love Actually", actress Keira Knightley presumed that the popular fantasy series "Pirates of the Caribbean" would be a disaster.

Knightley played the role of Elizabeth Swann in the film franchise.

In an op-ed written for The Radio Times, Curtis said it has been a "particular delight" for him to see how "brilliantly" the cast of "Love Actually", including Hugh Grant, Liam Neeson, Colin Firth and Alan Rickman has blossomed over the years, reports variety.com.

Later on, he recalled a funny incident when he asked Knightley what else she is working on and she replied that her another project is "some pirate thing - probably a disaster," referring to the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise that eventually made the actress a big star.

Curtis also commented on the success of the film's other stars.

"Andrew Lincoln had never come across, let alone killed, the Walking Dead. Chiwetel Ejiofor hadn't been a slave for five minutes, let alone 12 years," he said while mentioning their films "Walking Dead" and "12 Years a Slave".
