THESE days, actress Priya Hasan is an angry woman. Priya, who is known fpr being the happy girl, cites many reasons for her anger. The first one — the subsidy committee has not selected her maiden film 'Jambada Hudugi' for subsidy. The second reason is that the film not been selected for the Special Jury Award award by the selection committee. Yet another reason reason is the criticism on the delay of her second film 'Bindaas Hudugi.'

Priya says that she was disappointed with the perfunctory attitude of the people on various committees towards Kannada films. “Recently, Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa called upon girls to come forward and act in films. He also advised all to make good films. But, I am not happy with the state government as it failed to recognise my hard work and talent,” Priya complained.

Coming down heavily on the award selection committee for the year 2007-08 for not selecting Jamabada Hudugi for the Special Jury Award, Priya said, “The Censor Board gave a ‘U’ certificate for 'Jamabada Hudugi'. It completed 125 days of screening in Bangalore and 100 days in Hubli. It also got rave reviews from the media.

What else is required to get an award? I think the government has selected the wrong people for the job.” It is said that many women organisations and politicians are in touch with Priya. “They are ready to support me. I will organise a dharna in front of Vidhana Soudha if the government fails to do justice for my film,” the actress said.

On her second film 'Bindaas Hudugi', Priya said that it will cater to the needs all classes.

“The audience will enjoy the film. They will go home happy after watching my film.” Recently, the High Court has dismissed Priya’s appeal against the subsidy committee. “I am planning to appeal to the full bench,” Priya said.
