CHENNAI: Vijay fans, thronged the Government Women and Children’s Hospital in Egmore to catch a glimpse of the matinee idol who came to distribute gold rings to infants born on his 37th birthday on Wednesday.
Clad in a checked shirt and blue jeans, Vijay and his wife Sangeetha arrived at the hospital at 10. 45 am. Fans gave him a hero’s welcome with cut-outs and banners erected outside the hospital. “The actor distributed free gold rings worth one gram to parents of 10 new-born infants. More rings would be distributed by his fans later in the day,” hospital staff said. The actor gifts gold rings to infants born on his birthday every year at this city hospital in Egmore where he was born.
